Quadruple Helix Stakeholder Mapping

Welcome to the Quadruple Helix Stakeholder Mapping Tool, a dynamic approach to fostering collaboration and innovation in the realm of clean energy. In this workshop, we delve into the interconnected networks of academia, industry, government, and society, forming a powerful Quadruple Helix for the project/TRI. By mapping these stakeholders, we aim to create a comprehensive understanding of the diverse perspectives and expertise crucial for the success of clean energy projects. Join us as we navigate this collaborative landscape to unlock new opportunities and drive positive change in the pursuit of sustainable innovation.

To identify the key stakeholders in academia, industry, government, and society, forming a powerful Quadruple Helix. By mapping these stakeholders, we aim to create a comprehensive understanding of the diverse perspectives and expertise crucial for the success of clean energy projects.

Project/TRI representatives and diverse stakeholders already familiar with the theme from academia, industry, government, and civil society. Ensure a mix of perspectives, expertise, and roles within each sector.

  1. Organise a workshop of about 2,5 – 3 hours with the necessary participants.
  2. Fill out the Reasons to Engage Canvas
    • Explore existing and potential reasons to engage with the four sectors from different points of view. Brainstorm about important reasons and write them on the canvas with real or virtual post-its.
  3.  Group and summarize the reasons
    • Take a step back and assess the reasons mentioned. Group or summarize them as necessary.
  4.  Move 4-5 main reasons to the Identify Stakeholders Canvas
    • Move the post-its to the next canvas into the corresponding sectors (Research, Industry, Government, Society)
  5.  Brainstorm about key stakeholders that correspond to each Reason to Engage
    • Identify key stakeholders, either intermediary stakeholders, networks, or target stakeholders corresponding to each Reason to Engage.

Now that you have identified the key stakeholders, you need to categorize them according to their interest and influence and draft a preliminary engagement plan table. You can do this with the Stakeholder Engagement Plan tool.

By creating a comprehensive map that highlights the vital stakeholders crucial for the success of our clean energy initiatives, we facilitate a clearer understanding of engagement strategies tailored to specific sectors, ensuring that our collaborative efforts yield meaningful impact and sustainable outcomes.

  1.  Clear Communication:
    • Clearly communicate workshop objectives and agenda.
  2.  Facilitator Expertise:

  4.  Capture Insights:
    • Document key insights of the discussion. This can prove useful in the follow-up workshop.
  5.  Follow-Up Plan:
    • Invite the participants to the follow-up workshop, Stakeholder Engagement Plan.
